GooReader : Desktop App For Reading Google Books

GooReader is a breezing-fast and stylish eBook reader which provides a smarter way of discovering and reading Google Books. The application is designed to improve experience of reading eBooks that are available on Google Books database.

When you run the program, you will greeted with an an eye pleasing interface which has a virtual bookshelf, a search box and few options at the footer. To find something to read, Just enter title. author, keyword or Google Book ID and GooReader will run a search and display any matching books or magazines on the shelf. The search results may include books with full view, partial preview or no preview. Titles with a green bookmark indicate full view books, yellow bookmarked title indicate partial or limited preview books while any title with red bookmark indicate books which are just for show and aren’t yet available to read.

Reading book on the GooReader is very intuitive. Double-click a cover to open the book in a separate resizable window where you can flip pages like in a real book. To turn a page you can grab a corner of it or use the arrow keys. On this window, you will see a range of easy-to-use tools that let you zoom in or out, jump to a specific page, rotate and view the book in full screen as well as export pages as images or PDFs.

There is a library self which can be accessed through an option on the footer. Here you can add and manage your favorite books for fast access.

There is a wealth of eBooks available on Google Books database that user can read and you can upgrade to a paid version of GooReader for $19.95. This gives you the option to save your book as PDF to your hard drive- provided they aren’t copyright protected.
