Now picture this. You use your phones to pay for goods, tickets and even groceries simply by waving your mobiles phones in front of a special “sensor” in shops. Yes, this could be possible for consumers as Google Wallet is going to change the way we pay for things.
Few months ago, Google roll out “Google Wallet”, which is a mobile payment system for NFC equipped phones. It aims at providing the simplified way for the check-out process and way to get rid of your wallet full of cards.
How does Google Wallet work ?
When you are at a store, you have to launch the Google Wallet app in your NFC-equipped phone. Then simply tap your phone on a Paypass terminal to pay for your purchased items. A digital receipt will be sent to your phone to confirm payment.
On the same day when Google Wallet was announced, Google lifted the lid on its another service, “Google Offers”- a Groupon clone to seek out special offers from retailers. It is expected that Google Offers would be tied with Google Wallet to target offers to users on the fly. So we can conclude that Google Wallet service is all about mobile payment and special offers.

Google Wallet is not officially launched yet. Currently, field trail has been happening in some selected cities of US. Cities.(Check your City). You can signup at wallet to get a notification when it’ll launched in your area.
Is contact less payment Safe ?
Yes, the security will be ultratight, all data sent between phone and the reader will be encrypted. Only required information is transferred, the app never display full credit card details that are stored on phone. Also, the Google wallet app running on a smartphone is protected by PIN- customers prompt to enter password when they are purchasing items.
What if I lost my phone ?
Losing your mobile phone or having it stolen, poses a bigger risk. However, as soon as you report your handset missing to your network provider, the SIM will be disabled, thus blocking any contactless payment.
What is future of this technology ?
There will be mixed opinion on this question. Some analyst won’t see public adopting of this project. However, Googlers see an ambitious future of this contactless technology. All we can do is to wait until the technology will be available in most part of world.
