Google Translate : Identify a Foreign Language


Visiting a another country can be experience of lifetime but dealing with language is a quite daunting experience. Thankfully, about half a decade ago, Google filled the gap in the market by launching Google Translate – a boon for those who love to travel new places, meet new people and want to learn a foreign language.

For those who never heard of this service before, Google Translate is a free online language translation service that save you having to trawl through different dictionaries and grammar books. It can magically translate any block of text from one language to another.

Translating words and finding word meaning is easy – first, go to http://translate.google.com/. Just paste in some text or a web address and select from and to languages in the drop-down menu. Isn’t that so easy ! Whenever you hover your mouse over the translated text on a webpage, it will display the original version in a small pop-up, so you can compare them side by side. Plus, there is an option that allow you to upload documents for translation.

Google Demo Slam once uploaded a video to show the use of Google Translate service in real world situations. In this video, with the help of Google Translate service, the two girls were able to call an Indian restaurant and place their order in Hindi.
