Embed and Display Songs Lyrics on Nokia Phones

A few months ago Nokia released a cool feature for its music player that makes Nokia Touchscreen Phones capable of displaying lyrics of the songs.  Now, Nokia users can fully enjoy songs with  this new feature that allow you to sing along your favorite songs while your Nokia phone displays the lyrics when a song is playing.

If you have not updated yet, go to menu >applications>SW update and download the update. Restart phone to see the change. Play any song on the music player, click on “Options” and enable “Show Lyrics” feature.

A question probably arising in your mind that how you are going to embed lyrics in songs. There are free Mp3 tagging tools such as PicardTagger (Windows/Mac/Linux), TagScanner (Windows), MP3Tag (Windows)  that  save lyrics to song’s meta data. TagScanner is my favorite MP3 tag editor which is very easy to use. It support all basic tags, enable user to embed cover arts and lyrics. With TagScanner you can lookup online databases for tags and save them into MP3 files without any hassle – a handy feature indeed.

After you attach tags, lyrics and other information in a song using any of the above tools, just transfer the song from your PC to your Nokia handset.

[*] Note : This feature is available exclusively for touch screen Nokia handsets such as 5233,5330,5335, 5800, N8 and upcoming mobile phones.

    Will TagScanner or any other tool be able to create Karaoke-type of lyrics, I mean lyrics getting highlighted (not just displayed) while song is playing? And will the embedded lyrics work in MP3/Mp4 players too?

      No, there is no such tool yet. What kinda MP3/MP4 players are you talking about – mobile based or PC based ?

    Its not working in nokia n8 i added the lyrics to the song useing picardtagger but when i open the song and go to options i cant see (Show lyrics)

      Two solution -
      a) Update your firmware to the latest one. Then see if the “Show lyrics” option will be available to your Nokia’s default mp3 player. b) Otherwise, install TuneWiki from Nokia store. link :- http://bit.ly/mXuugH
