As I always say, the invention of a technology can have profound and unexpected effects in our life. Google maps also has an influence on our daily life. Here I come up with a “How to” guide that help you to find driving directions between two locations(starting point – destination) on Google maps.
Suppose you are visiting a place for the first time. But, asking for the way to the passers may not always reliable . Google can maps make this task easier for you by letting you know the correct road maps and driving directions without disturbing people near around when you are in a new place.
In this example we are finding driving directions from Indore city to famous Mahakaleswar temple at Ujjain. Best part about Google maps is that they can be access via Mobile phone .So, no need to worry about carrying a laptop with you.
For computers (or laptops) visit – htttp://maps.google.com and for mobile, visit-http://m.google.com/maps. We’ll start with searching for the starting point. Enter the starting point ( ie Indore in our example) to the search box. Select the correct location from the suggestion list on the left side. Same as you are seeing in the screen cast below.

Click on “Get direction” link. Now, you need to enter the destination ( i.e. Mahakaleshwar temple,Ujjain in our example) and click on the “ Get direction” button. The map will show you routes between starting point and destination. Moreover, you will find information such as total distance , roads and highway names, different routes to your destination and step by step guide that help you to track the correct path along with time you will take to cover the distance.

Now from here you can do something more interesting and useful. You can easily get hard copy or printed copy of the map to carry with you, before you set off for a journey. When you click the print button, a print preview will be displayed .The print preview show you the step by step driving directions either in text format or in image along with the distance to cover.

However, Google street view feature is not yet available in India will be available soon in India. But, images uploaded by the people can give you an impression that you are going in the correct direction and help you to track your path and routes visually.
